Allied air forces reported four enemy planes shot down and sixteen tons of bombs dropped in twenty four hours.
Clouds rain kept Allied and American forces subdued along the Lorraine front north of St Mihiel. Patrols moved beyond the lines while German artillery fired intermittently. French and American batteries shelled fixed targets but with reduced intensity throughout the day.
French forces extended gains in the Soissons and St. Quentin sectors. Contescourt and Castres fell, and the army reported repulsed counter attacks west of Jouy with heavy enemy losses and about 100 prisoners captured.
