A mob of about 5 000 strikers and sympathizers attacked Superior streetcars injuring more than thirty people including policemen. Crews were beaten and cars were wrecked as the mob forced their seizure, with police eventually restoring order after frantic scattering and arrests.
Miss Mary Davies aboard Aviator H. De Astley’s plane describes a 450 foot fall after a floor knot failed and the machine dropped. She records gripping the compass and oil can as debris rained, while De Astley cites a torn floor board as the cause and inability to steer.
In Bingham Utah 4500 copper miners remain on strike with no settlement in sight. Governor Spry visited the site delivering a peace urging address to 1000 Greek miners entrenched behind breastworks. The situation stays quiet as talks continue under state mediation.
New York state Senator Timothy D. Sullivan known as Big Tim Sullivan collapsed at his wife's funeral and is reported in serious condition. He has endured a nervous breakdown and diabetes and has long been a Bowery political figure, serving one term in Congress.

Mr and Mrs John Taylor of Massillon Ohio were injured when a sightseeing automobile collided head on with a Connecticut avenue street car in Washington. Five people were hurt including Taylor who suffered a badly injured right knee. The accident was blamed on a slippery pavement and the injured were taken to Emergency hospital.
Joseph Snyder awaiting commitment from Justice Humbird and in charge of Constable Ward slipped from custody at Baltimore street bridge. He dived into Wills Creek aiming for West Virginia shore to avoid extradition but drowned before rescue as a crowd watched. Snyder faced charges of chicken stealing.
In Naples the annual miracle occurred after two hours of prayers in the crowded cathedral. Cardinal Prisco ordered a 100 gun salute to quell crowds, then 160 guns after the liquefaction. Neapolitans celebrate as Vesuvius safety is believed secured for another year.
