In Cleveland on Sept 15 Ed win L. Sattler and companion Henry Hardy both 18 plead guilty to burglary and larceny before Common Pleas Judge Baer. They receive indeterminate sentences to the Ohio State Reformatory with a minimum term of fourteen months before eligibility for parole.
Coroner E. E. Kimmel and Miami Valley Hospital staff studied the death of Fred Kauffman, 20, Antioch College student from Mifflintown, Pa. After sudden onset during days of strange illness, paralysis and memory loss followed by a stupor. Official cause undetermined.
James More of 222 West McMillan Street, manager of the Sterling Jewelry Company at 5 East Sixth Street, faces two warrants charging embezzlement of 300 dollars and missing luxury items after a September 2 robbery allegedly netted 61 thousand dollars in jewelry and 500 dollars in cash.
On a busy New York street at noon, Michael De Falco was shot by four assailants after being accused of robbing a dice game and a drug stash. Louis Antol, a waiter, was also critically wounded by a stray bullet. Both victims lie in hospital. De Falco refuses to talk.
During the world flyers reception in Dayton Ohio the Barling bomber escort nearly suffered a catastrophe when a solenoid starter switch dangled toward the propeller. Mechanic Douglas Culver crawled along the wing to seize the object and return safely to the fuselage as Lt Harris and Lt Batton watched.
In separate hunting accidents near Zanesville Pearl Baldwin 30 and William Dickson 25 were misidentified as squirrels. Baldwin was shot in the face when a companion fired at his gray cap. he will recover. Dickson was hit in the lower left leg and transported to a hospital for treatment.

New Philadelphia on September 15 reports John Holzworth of Alliance was accidentally shot by a boy while hunting near Flushing. He was taken to a Wheeling hospital for treatment.
The Prince of Wales visited Doubleday, Page & Co. in Garden City on Sept 15, guided by Arthur W. Page. He toured the plant including Walter Hines Page’s former private office and then proceeded to Belmont Park for a steeplechase race, escorted by Major Solbert, Brigadier General Trotter, Scotland Yard operatives, and a state trooper.
Vernon Cal pilot Jimmy Murphy dies after his car crashes through a wooden fence on a curve during the 150 mile AAA race at the New York State Fair Grounds. Phil Shafer wins the event ahead of Bennett Hill and Harry Hartz. Murphy, a veteran racer, dies from a chest injury caused by fence splinters.
Ex Governor X Q O Pindall appeared before a U S Commissioner in Little Rock and pleaded not guilty to violating the national prohibition law and possessing liquor. He was released on a temporary $100 bond pending preliminary hearing. Three others also entered not guilty pleas.
Police seek a woman seen with nine year old Genevieve Martin who rode the Big Four passenger train from Detroit. The girl, wearing a tan cape and black dress, was found at Central Union Station and placed with the Travelers Aid Society before being taken to the Children’s Home. Authorities aim to locate the girl’s parents in Detroit and determine how she came to travel unescorted.
Charles L. Bowden, a clerk at 429 East Thirteenth Street, wrestled a revolver from Leroy Hammond, 23, of Toledo, ending a robbery. Hammond later confessed to two other robberies at nearby chain stores, stealing $44.76 at Vine Street and $32 from Roy Walker on East Main.
Frank Chance former manager of the Chicago White Sox died in Los Angeles after a six month illness. He had recuperated in California from a Chicago setback and returned briefly to manage before another collapse. Funeral plans will be announced. he leaves a widow and relatives.
In Geneva on September 15 British and French delegates forged a preliminary sanctions pact to outlaw war. The agreement, framed as mutual assistance for all league members, avoids a Franco British alliance and relies on each nation to provide support, including naval and aerial forces, when needed.
New York dispatch reports turmoil in the British polo camp on the eve of the second international match at Westbury. Lord Wimbourne severed ties with the team after the first game. Major F. B. Hurndall and Major T. W. Kirkwood criticized lineup changes and alleged selection disagreements within the Selection Committee.
