Funeral plans for Mayor Gaynor announced with public viewing at City Hall and a Monday funeral at Trinity Church. Processions from City Hall to Trinity Church, with a large crowd expected, escorted by police. Mourning period set at thirty days and services to be led by church officials if available.
The torso of a Brooklyn woman Miss Annette Day was positively identified by her brother Francis Day as the murdered 28 year old from Union Street Brooklyn. Police hunt an Italian physician said to be her lover, with whom she was expecting a child. The suspect fled to California and returned recently as investigators pursue leads from Tarrytown and Brooklyn.
Edison shows marked improvement at Llewellyn Park after two days confinement. Dr John Hammon Bradshaw reports he is worn but resting well and should be able to be about in a few days with rest and good care.
Burt Muir once of Louisville Kentucky was released by Municipal Judge Dolan in Chicago from a disorderly conduct charge. His wife had prompted the arrest on the minor charge in a prior court action.
In New York on September 12 Fraulein Frieda Gadke withdrew her complaint against her large fiancé Dick Hoogakker after kissing him in United States Commissioner Hitchcock's court. She admitted the fault was in spite, as Hoogakker stood handcuffed. the couple, both Hoboken residents, left together planning marriage.
Provisional President Yuan Shi Kai issued orders viewed in Pekin as China yielding to Japan's demands after the killings of three Japanese in Nanking and other incidents. Japan sought apology for flag insults, punishment of those responsible, and indemnity. A clash near Shang-Ti left one Japanese wounded and three Chinese dead. The Chinese officer sent an apology to the Japanese commander.
Maury I. Diggs and Attorney Charles B. Harris testified in San Francisco denying subornation of perjury connected to the Diggs Caminetti white slave case. They admitted Miss Nellie Barton was involved in conveying messages but claimed no perjury was encouraged. The jury was told to expect a verdict by next Tuesday and sentencing for Diggs Caminetti may be postponed pending the current case outcome.
Citizens and soldiers hunt Mexican gun smugglers who fired on a sheriff and posse. One hundred ranchmen vow stern vengeance. Constitutionalist General will shoot bandits if his men capture them.
Refugees report federal troops occupied Cuatro Cienegas Coahuila sacked the town burned parts of it and executed several suspected revolutionaries. Don Meliscon Ibarra a wealthy merchant kin to General Pablo Gonzales was among the dead.

Secretary Bryan urged immediate action as the department spends about 2000 dollars daily with only 12000 dollars left. The measure goes to the Senate for expected quick passage.

Philadelphia today heard details in the inquest into Miss Meredith Ann Dukes's death after an unprofessional operation by Dr. Robert C. Summers. The hearing focused on Mrs. May Simmons and her chain of houses used for malpractice as detectives pursue further evidence and possible additional fatalities.
Subpoenas are served for witnesses to appear before a grand jury in Terre Haute Indiana for an investigation into reports that Rev Dr RE A Hanly president of Franklin College Franklin Ind beat his aged infirm father at the old farm home near here. The father says three ribs were broken and the assault may have caused fatal injuries. Hanly fled the scene.
Harriet Taylor Upton of Warren, state suffragette leader, announced in Bryan that initiative petitions for a state constitutional amendment granting equal suffrage would circulate next week. She said the measure was submitted to the attorney general and petitions are being printed in Cleveland, aiming for a statewide vote in November 1914. She spoke after addressing Montpelier crowds at the County Fair.
Melville D. Fuller, Sulzer's broker, testified before impeachment managers about Sulzer's Wall Street activity from June 27, 1910, to July 14, detailing loans, collateral in Big Four and American Smelter stocks, cash payments, and a final balance settled by Lieutenant Commander Josephthal. He noted a mysterious inscription “For Mrs. Sulzer” on a closing order, with no dealings between the broker and Mrs. Sulzer.
Newark report describes private detective James Lockwood testifying in a divorce action brought by Frances Sparks Hood of Plainfield against Richard H. Hood. He testified Hood sailed as Robert Harris with Dorothy Hoyt aboard Kronprinzessin Cecilie, Hoyt leaving Hood’s room for hours. Hoyt denied guilt in a London consular affidavit read in court.
Sept 12 The body of Mayor Gaynor lies in state tonight in the Town Hall under police guard. It will remain there until it is taken aboard the Cunard Liner Lusitania to sail for burial at sea.
