Frenzied man fights police during rescue at May street fire
A three story tenement and a two story bottling works at 2353 2355 May street burned for unknown reasons. Fire started in the bottling works rear and spread to the tenement. Joseph Schaefer Jr resisted rescuers until police intervened. Owner Lewis Goodwin and John B. O Hara insured. No women or children were present. Fire crew member James Cail overcome by smoke but revived. Six families affected with total loss on stock and property.
