Street Car Men Shot In Hold Up Near Columbus
Motorman Elmer Myers and conductor Russell Crute of the Columbus Urbana Western traction line were shot at the Big Four crossing just outside Columbus while Crute was operating a derail switch. Both men suffered hip wounds considered not serious as robbers escaped with conductor Crute’s fare money. The line runs between Columbus and the Waterworks storage dam north of the city.

Drowns When Seaplane Sinks in Potomac River
J L Mc Nicholl a civilian employee of the Naval Aeronautical Testing Laboratory drowned when a navy seaplane fell into the Potomac at Anacostia. The pilot Lieutenant Hugh Wughley escaped with no injury as the aircraft struck an air pocket during a turn. This was the first fatal loss at Anacostia since December 1919.

Three Men Die From Carbon Monoxide In Farm Well
In Spring Brook near Buffalo, N Y three men Fred Arndt and his brother Harvey and Fred Hawker died from carbon monoxide fumes in a farm well.
