The Dreyfus trial concludes with a retroactive ten year sentence within France. The five year Devil's Island term counts toward the total and the decision awaits France to determine further action. Soldiers witnessed the notification with evident respect as Dreyfus faced the verdict with composed resolve.
James B. Eustis former ambassador to France during Cleveland's second term and former Louisiana senator died at his Newport summer home at 8 oclock tonight from pneumonia. He had fallen ill Wednesday, with initial heart concerns, then developed pneumonia by Friday. His son James B. Eustis Jr and daughter Celeste were at his bedside. He had recently worked on material from the Dreyfus case and battled heat exhaustion earlier in the season.
Rear Admiral Henry F. Picking who died at Charlestown Navy Yard will be cremated Monday at Forest Hills. Funeral services at the official residence at 10 o'clock, conducted by Chaplain David B.
