Mt Auburn Water Shortage After Pumping Station Failure
Eden Park Pumping Station engine failure left Mt Auburn without water yesterday with some districts only low on pressure. Public Service Director Herschede said repairs unlikely until today. Tanks were empty after 9 a.m. water pumped directly into mains. A council committee planned to reconvene at 10 to discuss 122000 Water Works bonds and requested monthly receipts data for 1901-1906. Master Mechanic Washington Meredith and engineers Rit ter and Steinmetz were summoned to testify. John W. Bonham appointed to replace ill engineer Charles Pally.

Machinery against molders seen to end Chicago strike
Secretary Paul Blatchford of the Metal Trades Association predicts the Chicago strike by 500 iron molders will end within a month after local manufacturers install 100 molding machines. The trial shows one machine replacing three molders and orders for 500 more are placed. Similar runs in Chicago and Milwaukee could put 1,300 machines in operation soon, reducing the needed workforce by about half.
