Posse forces and citizens scoured the region for two of three convicts who escaped from the Ohio Penitentiary brick plant at Junction City. After twelve hours no trace was found and the hunt was abandoned. The suspects Ben Caddes Clyde Fisher and Lee Needleton were armed, with Needleton later captured by a railroad worker. Authorities statewide circulated warnings and a $50 reward was offered for Homer Needles who escaped from London Prison Farm on August 30.

Charles Theodore Greve longtime Cincinnati bankruptcy referee died at 530 Maxwell Avenue Vernonville after a long illness. Born January 3 1863 in Cincinnati he studied at Hillsboro public schools Harvard and Cincinnati Law School and served as Assistant United States District Attorney before becoming a referee in bankruptcy in 1898. He organized the National Association of Bankruptcy Referees and recently retired as its president. He taught law at Cincinnati Law School and the Y M C A Law School.
