A sixteen year old boy Kennard Thompson confessed to killing his employer Herbert G. Wetters a chemist in Baltimore with a monkey wrench. He hid the body in a barrel and used forged signatures to fund a month of luxuries. The body was found in a barrel behind Wetters shop in the West End. Four other youths were detained and a junk dealer Oliver Beefelt faced charges for receiving stolen goods after selling the strong box.
