President McCreery of the Federation in Chicago condemns posting strike notices at Paducah Illinois Central shops. The notices, signed by the advisory board, urged workers to lay down tools at 10 a m Tuesday and were removed the same day. Local members reported speeches favoring a walkout at a federation meeting.

At Blackrock mine in Butte Montana six miners were killed or fatally injured in a hoisting accident. Five died instantly when steel shafts tore through the cage as it rose 1 400 feet. James Lee died later in hospital from injuries. Charles Green was also injured during the incident.
