Jesse Moss of Rogers Gap Scott County attempted to kill his wife Mrs. Mattie Moss in Lexington with a razor slicing her throat as they said goodbye. He left her alive and escaped as police search for him. The couple, married six years, separated March 1 after ill treatment claims, their four year old daughter with Moss' parents.

Garrett Kinney, 61, of Reading road Avondale, stepped into a fast south bound car and was killed before the motorman could brake. The incident drew a crowd of about 100 aboard Chester Park cars. Kinney, a saloon porter, left a widow and several daughters including Mrs. J. M. Allison. A second death followed nearby when a man, later identified as a potential tramp, was hit by a passing train near Southside and Carpenter avenues, leaving little identification and a rough map as a clue to his travels.
