Major General James W. Forsyth U S A. dies at age seventy three in Columbus Ohio after paralysis struck Monday night. He served on McClellan staff in Civil War campaigns and led frontier actions including Pine Ridge. Survives by three children and a wife, interment at Green Lawn Cemetery.
Chief Engineer Hill reports Cincinnati Water Works pumped 16,181,186,810 gallons in 1905 under prior Republican leadership. Average daily use 124 gallons per person. daily peak 57,698,652 gallons on August 17. Coal at $1.67 a ton. total operating cost $978,665.10.

At St Johns Newfoundland ill feeling rose as the American naval tug Potomac escorted three American fishing vessels beyond territorial waters and then helped 100 Newfoundland fishermen join them. The Potomac then returned towing the American vessels and forty small boats, a move local press says evades Ambassador Reid's modus vivendi spirit.
A blaze gutting a tenement in Kansas City housed the families of sixty laborers totaling about 200 people. Twenty are missing and many believed dead as firefighters search the ruins this morning.
