Lingafelter Sentenced to Four Years for Forgery
James F. Lingafelter was found guilty of forgery in the September term and sentenced to four years in the penitentiary. He is nearly six years old and weeps as the sentence is pronounced. his attorneys plan an appeal to the Circuit Court. The judge granted a venue change for Mrs Lingafelter to Coshocton County for a November 7 trial on forgery charges. Robert Lingafelter, previously a clerk, has been sent to hard labor at Mansfield Reformatory.

Western robbers blow open safe in Sparks bank
Robbers blew open the State Bank of Sparks in Sparks Oklahoma fifty miles east of Guthrie early today and took about 2500 dollars. They exchanged about 100 shots with townspeople who rushed to the scene after the explosion. A posse with officers and bloodhounds started from Shawnee to pursue them toward the Creek country.

Ferriday Louisiana saw the Johnston Hotel Cochran Hotel and seven cottages burned with total losses around 60000. A reported motive ties a negro suspect to the engineer’s murder and the hotel blaze to hide evidence. A pay car passed through Ferriday yesterday. Little was believed murdered for money. A negro man and woman were arrested on suspicion of Little’s murder and may face summary action.

Suicide pact ends in death at Toledo hotel
L. W. Barnsdale aged 27 died by inhaling chloroform in his hotel room in Toledo Ohio. He was seen last night in the lobby in good spirits. He had nearly attempted death by chloroform in November, when Mrs. May Ball who lived with him died from the drug, and police believed they planned a death by own action pact.

Henry Barth, manager of the Cincinnati branch of the American Type Founders Company, was stricken with apoplexy aboard a train entering Grand Central Station New York. He is in critical condition and hospitalized. Barth, 83, longtime Cincinnati figure in the type industry, was en route to a directors meeting in Jersey City. He lived at 3444 Evans Place, Clifton, and had been a leading organizer of the ATF company since 1892. A telegram to his wife accompanied by his son sent them to New York.
