Deposed member says a Boston sect will be tied to the fund by an aspiring leader. The woman vows to establish herself as leader No 2 of the Mother Temple and to wage a long battle for control, with a nomination from twenty years ago.
Mrs. Bella Gilbert 66, last of three excommunicated leaders, says she will launch a campaign to gain control of the Mother Church and become Leader No 2 after Eddy. She denounces the headless church, aims to abolish excommunication, and claims to be the divinely authorized successor.
Luke Prim a 54 year old former toll collector at Louisville and Nashville shot himself in the temple while his mother prepared a chicken dinner at their Newport home. He died at Speers Hospital Dayton with his mother at his side. Coroner reports his wife had recently divorced him and he had been ill for months.

A lineman Clarence Buckingham of Kokomo died after being burned when he was trapped under wreckage near Sharpsville. Motorman Clair B. Oler of Indianapolis died four hours after suffering a punctured lung from the crash between two interurbans. four others had minor injuries. Officials believe the southbound special may have overlooked the northbound regular car.
Leslie C. MacPherson, 73, a longtime Pittsburgh Post Gazette reporter and former Washington correspondent for The New York Sun, was robbed and beaten to death in an alley. His body was found by a passer-by in Pittsburgh on October 21. He was born in Circleville, Ohio.

Bob Carey of Dayton won the event in 1 hour 51 minutes 2 seconds with Shorty Candonia among the challengers. five finishers. The accidents were blamed on crowding near the fence.
Paris reports indicate Prime Minister Poicare will ask Parliament to ratify the Mellon Berenger and Caillaux Churchill debt accords after talks with Winston Spencer Churchill and S Parker Gilbert. Ratification could lower interest on US Army stock debt from 5 to 2 percent and ease consolidation into the General War Debt.
An unidentified woman about 30 was found dead in a two room hotel apartment in New York’s Hotel Pasadena. Gas leaked from an open stove, boiling water spilled from a tea cup, and a note notes she registered as Miss Sloan of New York. The body was described as 5 feet 5 inches, 110 pounds, brown bobbed hair, fair complexion, wearing a champagne dress with flesh stockings and dark-brown pumps. The woman had paid an advance weekly rent of $18.
Casper H Rowe 68 retired banker and business leader of Cincinnati died at his Avondale home after months of heart disease. He once presided over the Market National Bank and helped Cincinnati weather the 1907 financial panic. He leaves son Stanley R Rowe and daughter Mrs Herbert Hoffman. a son Eugene F Rowe died in WWI. Funeral set for Wednesday at 2 30 pm with burial in Spring Grove Cemetery.
New York reports that Marie Kristensen a 62 year old waitress was found dead in her apartment with a bone fracture in the neck and evidence of smothering. Dr Charles Norris performed the autopsy and detectives questioned witnesses including her sister Thea Kristensen. The death had been ruled suspicious before autopsy.
Herbert Hoover arrives in New York City to press his Eastern campaign with a series of meetings and receptions. He will brief New York party leaders at Seventh Avenue, attend a luncheon hosted by Charles Hilles, and meet foreign born voter delegations and independent groups before continuing his campaign in the state.
Hamilton County Board of Elections faces potential delays as Ohio votes surge with 207,798 registrations in 1928, up from 164,032 in 1924. Washington report states Blackburn Esterline, special assistant to Solicitor General Mitchell, was killed when he fell down an elevator shaft in the Department of Justice Building. A watchman who operated the elevator said Esterline rang from the fifth floor, then the watchman moved to the sixth floor and upon returning heard Esterline and the elevator.
