The united states and Britain confirm a subsisting modus vivendi on Newfoundland fisheries. The accord, transmitted through diplomatic notes, allows purse nets by American fishermen with limits and calls for not fishing on Sundays while ensuring respect for shared fishing rights.

Clinton Hogue aged 20 mounted a horse to bid his parents farewell when the animal reared and toppled him onto a stone curb. The collision crushed his skull. he died instantly. He was the son of John D. Hogue, a shoe merchant.
Secretary of War Taft will travel Ohio to back a Republican victory and endorse Roosevelt policies.
