Train wreck in Virginia kills two engineers and firesman
A Chesapeake and Ohio passenger train bound from Richmond to Huntington derailed near Ivy, seven miles west of Charlottesville. Fireman William Carper of Clifton Forge was killed instantly. Engineer Henry Johnson of Charlottesville died of injuries and Engineer William Jones of Charlottesville was badly hurt but expected to recover as both engines plunged down an embankment.
