Early today she fled from her husband into an orchard where she stabbed herself seven times with a knife taken from his pocket, in a dramatic escape that followed earlier failed attempts.
Adam Huffman aged 60 was killed by robbers after two hours of torture at his Brimfield and Rome City road home. His bound hired man was injured. bloodhounds track suspects as neighboring towns join the hunt for the murderers amid talk of a lynching.

She renounced allegiance to Spain, paid twenty cents for an attested copy, and waved an American flag as she left.
