William D. Killion, a prosperous farmer and former Democratic sheriff candidate, shot Walter Buckley four times in the abdomen at Plainville after a dispute over Killion's treatment of his wife. Buckley died. Killion was arrested by the Sheriff.
Deputy Sheriff O A Rothrock arrested Thomas Rutherford near Seafield and jailed him in Monticello Ind He is suspected of taking part in a Reynolds Bank robbery Wednesday morning Rutherford says he will only tell his brother a detective in Chicago who arrives tonight the confession is anticipated
Admiral Dewey received a royal Vermont welcome with a 30,000 person parade and reception at the State House in Montpelier. Governor Smith and Mayor Senter praised him as crowds cheered and a medal was presented.
