Five bridge companies surrendered their charters amid a war on the Bridge Trust led by the Ohio Attorney General. Champion Bridge Company of Wilmington King Company of Cleveland Canton Bellefontaine Massillon firms left the state, Mt Vernon Bridge Company remaining to fight the case. Circuit Court appointed trustees to wind up the ousted firms as Logan County Circuit Court heard the ouster and receivership pleas.

Mrs. John Hart, 22, was assaulted near Ludlow Avenue as a man tore at her jacket and splashed acid. She was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital annex with burns to face neck and arms but cannot identify her attacker. Police traced the case to Cincinnati and Newport, Kentucky, with her husband notified.
In Glouster Ohio on October 9 John Popelay a Hungarian miner shot and likely mortally wounded Mrs Alexander Kovats of Hollister after accusing her husband and others of concealing money. Popelay fired as a quarrel escalated and fled before authorities could arrest him.
