Crowds gathered for a grand march toward the Russian Embassy as shouts of Vive le Tsar filled the line. An incident briefly distracted from the parade when the czarina sustained a minor carriage accident but the emperor remained unhurt.
The Czar and Czarina arrived in Paris from Cherbourg at 10 AM and were greeted with frenzied cheers. They toured the Russian Embassy, viewed grand decorations along the Champs Elysees, and later attended a church visit and state receptions with President Faure and French officials.
Arthur Sewall, Democratic candidate for Vice President, informs the Democratic Notification Committee of his acceptance in writing. He affirms allegiance to the party platform, denounces money power influence, and pledges to rescue the country from its foreign allies and the moneyed interests. Walter Michael Castle an American merchant his wife Ella and their ten year old son Fred were arrested at the Hotel Cecil and brought before Marlborough Street Police Court charged with stealing sable and chinchilla skins valued at £21 from London furriers. Evidence showed entry to shops and departure without purchase. Missing furs were later found in rooms at the hotel. The couple was remanded for a week with bail denied while the boy was discharged.
Nearly 150 poisoning cases from smoked whitefish reported across Wisconsin and Ontario with deaths in Merrill and Brotherton. Farther cases include 50 sickened at Oshkosh. Health officials link tainted fish from Concordia College to ptomaine poisoning and pledge a State Board of Health investigation.

HOUGHTON Mich Oct 6 The widow of a murdered man sent money and supplies to the widow of the killer's coachman Felix Delmonte who was shot last Thursday evening from Portage Lake. Delmonte had five children and Mrs Sheldon acts to aid the Delmonte orphans with funds and goods.
In Elyria Ohio on October 6, striking union quarry workers attacked non union homes in Grafton. An eight year old girl, daughter of Fred Stollo, was seriously injured when a stone shattered her window. Guards patrol streets as deputies vow arrests while strikers threaten violence.
Mrs. Jacob Strawn and her four year old son were fatally burned last evening in Lancaster County while trying to hasten a fire by pouring coal oil from a lamp into the stove near Pickerington. The incident occurred in the Strawn residence and authorities are investigating the blaze.
An unconfirmed Guthrie report claims a bloody battle on Horse Creek in Choctaw country between full-breeds and squaw men resulted in several squaws and their white husbands being killed. The item cites Kansas City dispatches dated October 6.

At dawn the large general merchandise store of L. Horn in Huntsville was burglarized. The safe was cracked and some money and goods stolen. Thieves fled with a fine-blooded horse reportedly belonging to Mr. Anderson Neer.
Attorneys for Romine Coretli and the Stone family appeal to the Supreme Court to set aside a circuit verdict denying a new trial. Coretli is sentenced to hang on November 6 after the recent ruling in the boy murder case.

A. B. Beckwith, a Justice of the Peace in Parkersburg West Virginia, was tried and convicted in Criminal Court for ordering Jim Sherman, the accused assailant who hanged the Wetherell child to thumbs during a photo, to be photographed. He was fined $1 and costs, claiming the act was to warn other justices not to exceed authority.

The Ohio State Board of Registration and Examination met and heard protests against nine doctors from various parts of the state. Protests allege the doctors practiced in Ohio while living elsewhere or lacked required education or engaged in excessive drinking or conduct unbecoming the profession.
Rockville Ind Oct 6 Rev W P Cummings oldest minister in the county died today at age 80 after sixty years of marriage. He had married more couples and preached more funeral discourses than many peers in the county.
