The eleventh annual American Legion convention crowned Milton D. Campbell as National Vice Commander receiving 1007 votes. A Cincinnati Bent ley Post ally, Campbell thanked colleagues and pledged hard work for the legion's aims as delegates travel back aboard the steamer Cincinnati.
Gov. Myers Y. Cooper attends the formal opening of the Eighth Street Viaduct, a $2,000,000 project tracing back to 1798 ideas by Judge John Clev Symmes and a long struggle through storms, floods, and reform efforts. The bridge represents decades of local effort with early donors and multiple failed attempts before final completion.

Otto H. Kahn, famed New York banker and arts patron, is revealed as a stockholder in the Cincinnati Stuart Walker Company. The Walker office published a letter from Kahn acknowledging a stock pamphlet and a check, mailed from London on July 20, 1929, urging Cincinnati to support the theater as a living, growing institution.
The Cincinnati League of Women Voters invites attendees to a Friday evening event at the Hotel Sinton Ballroom on October 11 at 8 o'clock. Guests are urged to mail the coupon to the League's headquarters, 324 Hotel Sinton, with no charge and no solicitation.
