St Louis favored over the Yankees as Hoyt and Bengough expected to work for New York. Manager McKechnie likely to choose Sherdel and Wilson for the mound.
New York prepares for the 1928 World Series as the Yankees host the St. Louis Cardinals in the opener at 1 30 pm tomorrow. Crowd plans include Hoyt and Bengough for the Yankees, Sherdel and Wilson for the Cardinals, with Mayor Jimmy Walker tossing the first ball and Col. Ruppert ready for night lights if needed.
At Terrace Avenue Hill Dayton Kentucky a shotgun discharged while passing between boys practicing with a rifle and shotgun. Fifteen year old Arvid Peterson died from a shotgun wound. others present were Frederick Peterson eleven Donald Perry twelve Earl Brown seventeen and Nelson Randle twelve. Arvid leaves his parents and brother. Funeral plans pending.
M. H. Lang of Middletown Ohio was named commercial attache for the United States to Norway. He will head the new Commerce Department office to be opened in Oslo in November.
Paris reports Roszika Dolly of the famous sisters may receive only what Sir Mortimer Davis allows as a wife. The will blocks a hoped annual estate of about 2 million for her and 1 million for her husband Mortimer Jr. The plan to wed faced opposition from Sir Mortimer, and the couple has since separated amid divorce rumors.

Voters must register to vote on November 6 with three registration days listed Thursday October 11 Friday October 19 and Saturday October 20. Registration hours span 8 to 2 and 4 to 9 at regular polling places. Norwood St Bernard and Cincinnati residents must register.
