In Springfield, George D. Thatcher's suit to recover 296000 on three notes against the P. P. Mast estate was dismissed. The case proceeded to trial after a pending continuance was denied. Executives testified the notes were forged and the court canceled them.
Chief of Police Mason Williams arrives in Frankfort Kentucky after delivering a requisition for W. B. Taylor and Charles Finley to Governor Beckham in Indiana. He does not expect Governor Durbin to yield, and the report notes Williams traveled without the named individuals.
Canton Ohio October 1 Mrs McKinley’s condition has improved and she will not have a physician in constant attendance. Dr P M Rixey, Navy, has left Canton to report to Washington. Webster and Spencer Coleman also departed for the capital.

Bondsmen cover 12414 more stockholders add 10000. Davis is abroad and promises to reimburse creditors while suits loom against friends and gamblers. Police seek further action as bank faces prospective losses.
Berlin reports Suermondt & Co of Aachen has suspended owing to losses tied to the Terlinder Company failure. Creditors expect full payment, with Berlin banks involved but none to lose. Mahler Bank linked to the Bourse overseers predicts a full return under the Bourse law.
