In a furious southwest gale off Port Burwell the steamer Macy foundered on Lake Erie carrying her crew to a likely loss. The barge Mabel Wilson, towed by Macy, broke away in darkness, survivors uncertain, cargo coal, Macy owned by P J Ralph Co of Detroit and insured for 16500.
