Columbus dispatch reports 45 of 88 Ohio counties tabulated with Bushnell ahead in most races and a small vote for the Negro Protective party. Mrs. Ferrer Martyn wife of Rev Ferrer Martyn a lecturer from Utica New York held her eight week old baby Robert G Martyn in her arms from Logansport Indiana to St Louis Missouri The Wabash express brought them to Union Station where an inquest was held and the mother said the child had suffered illness and died after convulsions on the train
Special dispatch reports Mrs. Anna Graves of Main street and Champion avenue Columbus Ohio fatally burned by a kerosene oil explosion while rekindling a fire in a small stove. She died in four minutes as neighbors contained the blaze. a five year old girl nearby suffered minor burns and three small children are left.
Senator Hanna plans a Monday trip to New York for business plus an address to the Marquette Club of Boston. He will be accompanied by Vice President Hobart and Mrs. Hobart from Cleveland to their home after the visit.
Major Ben Butterworth III commissioner of patents became ill at Senator Hanna's office in Cleveland. He was taken to the Hollenden Hotel where pneumonia developed and doctors attended him through the evening. Hanna and his son assisted him to the carriage and remained at his bedside.
A violent Lake Erie storm since yesterday afternoon has suspended most traffic into Cleveland. Only four vessels reached port today and two that ventured out returned. The steamer State of Ohio from Buffalo was last sighted sixty miles east of Buffalo and is believed to seek Canadian shore protection with no safety concerns reported.
The Masonic Grand Lodge of Arizona convenes in a cavern near Bisbee on November 6. The underground lodge room lies 30 feet below the surface with a temple like decor, marble walls, columns, and a guarded tunnel entrance leading upward to a cavern portal.
Edward Aylward, a traveling salesman, was arrested today on a Cleveland fugitive from justice warrant. Authorities say he embezzled 5 from the G. Worthington Company while employed as a collector about a year ago. Aylward says he informed Cleveland officials of his whereabouts and was held for extradition.

A State Department telegram from Havana says five Competitor prisoners face court martial this Monday. Named are Alfred Laborde William Gildea Ona Melton Charles Barnett and William Leavitt. They were arrested aboard the vessel Competitor on April 2 18% on arms landing charges.
Richard Curry, 40, was shot and killed by 18 year old Allie Bagley in Evansville Indiana. Curry sought a divorce from Bagley’s mother and tried to enter the home while drunk. Bagley fired as Curry forced entry. the youth surrendered to authorities.
Henry F. Snyder an expert telegrapher arrested by Kansas detectives on alleged ticket theft from the Santa Fe Railroad has been acquitted after a year in custody and a lengthy trial. He now plans to sue for false imprisonment and slander seeking 50000 dollars.
Ripley Ind November 6 Byrd Sayre aged 77 shot Floyd Norris near here last June. He was tried and convicted before Judge Blizzard on Thursday and sentenced to one year in the penitentiary. Sayre broke down and cried when the sentence was pronounced.
George H. Brown of Knox Indiana, missing since October 17, is believed murdered in Chicago after traveling through Newman Urbana and Champaign Illinois. He carried 8000 negotiable papers and 2100 in cash plus 5600 later, with a 1000 acre Knox County real estate holding. His brother in law seeks police aid in the disappearance.
A head end collision on the Louisville Evansville and St. Louis line near six mile hill between Edwardsville and New Albany injured Fireman Roseman fatally. Through Freight No 74 descended at about forty mph while meeting Local Freight No 71. Both engines and several cars were destroyed and a tramp is feared buried in the wreckage. Track clearance was not expected until late tonight due to the wreck.
Freight Train No 61 on the Baltimore and Southwestern Railway derailed near Huron Indiana when the engine tender jumped the track on a down grade at high speed. Fireman Reuben May was killed after leaping from the engine. conductor Edward Cuddahe and engineer Martin O'Brien survived. May recently divorced and carried 3500 in life and accident insurance.
The Cincinnati limited traveling from Cincinnati to Chicago on the Monon route slipped a track near Lowell Indiana while reducing grade and a false track was laid. The train crawled along with no injuries. Forty passengers walked about a quarter of a mile to Lowell.
A freight wreck on the Cincinnati Southern at Greendale six miles north of Lexington derailed four cars loaded with pig iron and lumber while making a siding. No casualties were reported and regular trains experienced little delay.
A Danville report alleges Democratic election workers bribed African American voters to abandon the polls and mutilate ballots. Voters received scraps with inscriptions to mark their ballots, then those papers were tracked to tally fraud. The scheme, affecting Boyle County and nearby areas, involved payments and record keeping by money handlers.
Kentucky residents rejected a proposed constitutional amendment that would let cities fix their own local tax methods. With about thirty counties reporting, 30,445 voted against and 29,091 for, a deficit of 1,354. Louisville business leaders campaigned hard, while Mayor George D. Todd signaled plans for departure and future business.
Frankfort Kentucky November 6 Governor Bradley dismissed reports he might seek the Senate as idle gossip with no foundation He said he is out of politics and there is as much chance of him running for senator as taking to the pulpit.
In Eutaw Alabama on November 6 a black man who assaulted a white girl near Reform Pickens County was jailed in Greene County for safety. Rumor spread of a mob from Pickens to seize him, but the governor ordered out the Warrior detachment and guards were placed around the jail to prevent an attack.
Deputy Sheriff Felix G. Trousdale of near Paris Tennessee killed himself at his home in Paducah Kentucky. A well to do farmer about 50 years old, no cause is known for the act.
LaPorte Indiana November 6 A skeleton is dug from the home of the late Isaac Gurnee in Union Township. Mrs Gurnee before going insane confessed to killing a stranger who lived there. A neighbor also disappeared after the stranger. Mrs Gurnee is in a madhouse and Gurnee died in delirium.
Governor Mount urged the State Labor Commissioners to investigate reports that Cabell & Kaufman of Washington Daviess County were importing Kentucky miners to replace locked out local workers. He said if a method exists to halt the importation, it should be used amid complaints from labor groups and operators.
Jeffersonville carpenter John L. Howard received a letter from Duncan Howard of Howard Alabama, a man who settled there after the war and became wealthy. He offered John a fine farm in Alabama. John travels this week to visit his brother and the opportunity.
New Orleans November 6 reports a drop in new yellow fever cases and lighter fatalities. Recoveries rise as the Board of Health notes gains, with 1 729 total cases and 228 deaths to date, 916 recovered and 6585 under treatment.
In Mobile Alabama today new cases totaled eight including Edward Head and Mrs Cornelia Rooswell among others, with death recorded for Henry Williamson. Three additional cases in Spring Hill involve Mrs Pearl McArdle Daisy Martin and Louis Wilker. The Board of Health lifted freight quarantine, banning only household goods from infected points.
Memphis reports one new fever case for November 6 with no deaths. B F Mason, who lives at 209 Virginia Avenue in the infected district, contracted the disease while nursing his wife who died days earlier of yellow fever.
In Hyden Kentucky on November 6 a county fight at Catshin Creek left Thomas Cody dead after a clash with Bud Lewis who had supported independent assessor candidate Hughes Morgan. Across Macks Creek Perry County James Singleton died from a heart shot and a girl was wounded by a stray bullet. In Badek George Begsey fatally shot lumber dealer Thomas Oskins during election quarrels.
In Versailles Kentucky at Midway Allen Shipman aged 14 aimed a shotgun at his brother William aged 16. The gun discharged wounding William in the abdomen with a fatal prognosis. both boys are sons of L S Shipman, a wealthy farmer and former banker.
In Sharpsville Indiana B F Moore a 70 year old deaf man was struck by a south bound Rushville train at 2 pm while crossing the tracks. He was hurled sixty feet and his body broken multiple bones. He died instantly.
