Thousands gathered as industry bowed to history and citizens, children, and military joined a Memorial Day parade. Naval division led by Midshipman Wuest protested placement, then due to regulations followed by the second division. Despite absences and dropouts, the parade honored veterans, with veterans and schoolchildren marching through a sunny city, and cemeteries decorated in the afternoon.
Under clear skies and brisk breeze about 10 000 veterans sons of veterans patriotic societies and school children marched through Cincinnati streets to honor those who fought in the Civil War. The Grand Army service followed and graves were decorated. Several older veterans died last year though participants remained in step to wartime tunes. A 44 year old Spanish American War veteran fainted during the event. The parade proceeded to Fourteenth Street then to Govern or Street area.
Kilbourne, a longtime Bryan supporter and Ohio Democrat, breaks with Governor Harmon over endorsing a U S senator at the Dayton convention. He argues an endorsement should be made per the national platform, while party leaders like James Ross may influence delegation control.

Rev. A. A. Jones aged 67 a longtime member of the Virginia conference Methodist Episcopal Church South died in Norfolk after a paralysis stroke. He was aboard the Virginia during the Hampton Roads action and was among the last two boats to depart before the vessel exploded at Craney Island by its own crew.

Amputations likely for many leg injuries. the bridal couple escaped serious harm.

Rothacker, a street lunch vendor, reported a bad dollar after two well dressed men bought a sandwich. Barton appeared and offered a sandwich with a counterfeit dollar, leading Rothacker to detain him until officers arrived. Schadler, grocer at Sev enth and Plum, had earlier been targeted by two men in a bogus dollar and alerted Night Chief Corbin. A Mrs Klepper at Twelfth and Race noted a later counterfeit dollar incident but could not describe the pair.

Joseph Constance Jr. of Colerain Avenue Cincinnati was struck and killed by a northbound Pennsylvania train at Flockton near Hamilton Ohio. The 38 year old man, a member of the canal dredging crew, was hit at a sharp curve while pursuing a bucket of water.
New York May 380 Associated Press Representative Sulzer denounced in a speech at the Army and Navy union annual dinner the U S navy practice of putting sailors in irons for minor disciplinary infringements calling it barbarous.
Secretary of War Dickinson is slated for a seat on the United States Supreme Court to succeed Justice Moody if the serious illness prevents his return to the bench.
Calais France May 30 Divers inspected the sunken French submarine Pluviose after a collision with the Pas de Calais. The hull was crushed and all 27 crew members perished.

He trudges to New Britain then New Haven, sleeping in stations and lodging houses, exhausted, expresses desire to return to his school. Gould to be taken back Tuesday. secretary Campbell cites homesickness and prior long walks.
Louisville reports reveal Alma Kellner body recovered from a cistern near St. John's Church. Police seek Joseph Wendling, former janitor, as a possible killer as Mrs Wendling admits washing muddy clothes with bloodstains. Frank Fehr identifies the body and details emerge of the grisly discovery and possible use of lime.
