Speaking to 8 000 klansmen at a 1 287 alien initiation the unrobed King Kleagle calls the measure unconstitutional and says the group will fight disclosures to the last. The speaker identified as Major Johnson US Army retired. Similar events reported in other Maine towns.
Prof Robert Longley Taylor longtime head of romance and languages at Williams College died in Williamstown Massachusetts at age sixty two after twelve years leading the department.
In Bochum Germany seven killed and ninety three wounded since Saturday night as clashes erupt between civilians volunteers police and Communists. Firemen and police are marooned at fire headquarters with revolvers while Communists hold rifles. Private telephone advices indicate continuing extreme violence. Belgian occupation troops at Buer repulsed Communists attempting revolt.
In Bochum Germany May 27 serious Communist disorders resumed with a foiled kidnapping of a merchant who was rescued by firemen after a clash leaving one fireman dead and others wounded. Rioting continued at mine pits near Wanne and fighting at Wetten with two killed and thirteen wounded, bringing total casualties since yesterday morning to four dead and thirty wounded.
ESSEN May 27 The French authorities seized ninety billion marks from the Reichsbank because they needed funds to pay certain bills while the Germans refused to supply money saying there was not enough on hand.

Mexican police arrest Medaro Lopez a 26 year old ex federal army captain turned revolutionist linked to a May 17 bombing at the American Consulate in Mexico City He allegedly acted with an accomplice and dropped a Bolshevik bearing cap as a false clue Lopez is said to have smuggled arms by airplane and is believed part of a San Antonio based revolution committee authorities plan to arrest an accomplice soon.
A Meshed dispatch reports a severe earthquake at Turbat i Haidari in Jalliahbad district causing loss of life and property damage. The event was recorded May 27 by The Pioneer.
United States Marshal J H Short of London Kentucky was killed by J A Hurst during a warrant service at a mountain cabin in Malden Jackson County. A large posse of over fifty men and bloodhounds pursued the fugitive as deputies from Richmond and Lexington were dispatched to the scene.
A massive blaze in Ste Agathe last night left seventy eight families homeless and destroyed fifteen buildings in the southern resort area. Damage is estimated at four hundred thousand dollars as nearby fire departments aided by dynamite containment. Police say a brawl on Pearl Street and Broadway ended in the death of Thomas McAndrews 27 after a blow fractured his skull. Companions Lester Morgan William Alexander and Theodore Stein are held for questioning. Coroner Handley to hold a post mortem.
