The London Times reports the Cabinet will dispatch large mobile troops to Ireland for a systematic round up of Sinn Feiners in the south and west. The plan, still unsettled, faces limits due to ongoing industrial unrest and the need to deploy forces to Silesia.
The weekly review says violence in Ireland worsened last week with 57 Crown and civilian casualties, eight civilian murders blamed on Sinn Fein, eleven attacks on barracks, and forty nine mail raids. Belfast dispatch reports Queenstown isolated after cables from White Point to Haulbowline were cut last night cutting all communications to the surrounding districts including the Admiralty. Haulbowline naval dockyards cut off from contact.
Leo J. Ainsworth aged 36 of 1863 Chase street was arrested near the Tenth District station by Policeman Weiss and charged with driving while intoxicated. He was taken to the General Hospital where Dr. Davis Lillard reported acute alcoholism.

Washington May 27 British officials said Great Britain has made no representations to the United States over reported shipment of American arms to Ireland or fundraising in the United States through the sale of bonds of the Irish Republic. Officials noted that no official cognizance of the traffic would be taken unless representations were made.
Tracy Drake testifies to the Dailey committee that the Carpenters Union sought a 14000 fine over use of a buzz saw at the Drake Hotel project while the Electrical Workers Union demanded a 3000 fine for a non union worker. He says neither fine was paid and notes 65000 settled union disputes in a nearby apartment house and loop office building.
Columbus May 27 The governor aims to dissolve the 84th General Assembly and reconvene in a special session to specify pending legislation. The Senate voted 21 to 12 to recess until January 9 or by call, while House members were summoned to Columbus to act.
Peter Sieg aged 70 a laborer of 5916 Linneman Road died of heart disease yesterday. His body was found in bed early today by family members.
Cleveland May 27 A capias with contempt charge was issued for Mrs Delia McInerney after jurors testified she spoke to them during her perjury hearing in the McInerney case She allegedly tampered with jurors who convicted her on a prior charge in the McGannon murder trial and the probe delays McGannon testimony by at least one day.
F P Boisseau auditor of freight overcharges for the Big FourRailroad and Rodger Davies assistant auditor were riding in a taxicab driven by John Cannon 2517 Hemlock Street when it crashed into a telephone pole on Carthage Avenue Norwood. Boisseau was badly bruised and taken to Emergency Hospital. Davies uninjured. Cannon suffered minor cuts.
Rock Island Illinois May 27. Major Lee O Wright of the Army Ordnance Department announces at the American Society of Mechanical Engineers convention that a new 50 caliber machine gun can pierce one inch armor at 200 yards. It weighs 65 pounds with a 2500 fps muzzle velocity and an effective 6000 to 7000 yard range.
Mrs Frances N Beauchamp of Lexington warns at Paducah district sessions that tobacco is the deadliest curse in America calling the cigarette a deadly roll of paper. She urges women to oppose tobacco and claims a cigarette fiend lies and steals.
Patrolman Albert Schmitt 30, of Cheviot, pursuing a speeding motorcyclist on Boudinot avenue near Werk road in Westwood, crash left him with a fractured skull and injuries to his leg and knee. He was transported to General Hospital with poor prospects for recovery. A ride passenger, 19 year old Alvina Brennan, reported she and another man were on the leading bike. the rider allegedly removed a license tag from the wrecked machine. The incident follows a prior crash in which Schmitt injured his leg.

Counsel explained negotiations for settlement were conducted by Mrs Stillman’s counsel and a friend of Stillman, but failed over the child's illegitimacy. Next hearing set for June 1 and 2 in Poughkeepsie before Referee Daniel J. Gleason.
The American Legion will supply flags for every classroom in Cincinnati. Dr Randall J. Condon agrees to install the flags with school principals choosing the ceremony. Legion proposes daily or weekly oath to the Constitution with new wording.
Detroit citizens volunteering aid the police traffic force to arrest motorists defying traffic rules. About fifteen hundred volunteers will patrol streets in motor vehicles to support enforcement.
Washington May 27 An agreement on wages and working conditions was reached tonight between Marine Engineers Beneficial Association representatives and Shipping Board Chairman Benson. Terms to be ratified by locals Sunday if accepted by unions.

In Bridgeport Connecticut on May 27 evidence showed Mrs Ethel H Nott dined at a hotel with Elwood B Wade the night before her husband George B Nott was killed Wade was executed last week for the murder Testimony by waiters James Diambert and Alexander Mundt was heard The defense challenged a post arrest statement by Mrs Nott but the court admitted it The statement said she could not aid her husband during the attack and that Wade told her to stay with the children A detective testified she described her husband as a gambler thief burglar and opium user Police found a stained apron blanket revolver and hatchet in the Nott home
In Nancy France on May 27 four of five aviators died when their plane crashed near the Malzeville aviation field in Meurthe et Moselle. The survivors were injured.
A fierce gunfight in Newport Kentucky involved six ambushers exchanging rapid fire with three gunmen and police. Patrolman Simons is beaten but rescued as a green touring car plowed through Patterson Street at 10 pm. John Meyers was wounded in the arm and taken to Speer’s Hospital. Authorities pursued the assailants through Chestnut Street and into a back alley as civilians endured shattered windows and falling debris.
