Detectives in Cleveland believe a burglar was involved after locating a blood stained pearl necklace near the Reichlin home between Lorain and Elyria. The necklace, tied to the murdered Agatha Reichlin, was found by a boy and later examined by a chemist, with authorities unsure if it belonged to the victim. The finder’s identity remains undisclosed.

In St. Petersburg a police chiefs order calls for fresh inquiries into Jewish legal status and forcible expulsion of those lacking residence rights. A Kishineff Jewish delegation met Minister Von Plehwe, who denied antisemitism and pledged consideration for protections. The minister also blocked distribution of an antisemitic organ and noted possible prosecutions of negligent officials to deter future massacres.
Indianapolis organizers opened subscriptions for the Russian Jews relief fund. Although no push was made, $800 was pledged by nightfall and officials estimate the city will contribute about $5,000.
Manila May 26 Lieutenant Javier led a force of constabulary and volunteers against insurgents in Cebu. About 200 fanatics were engaged in the mountains near Taon, sixty eight were killed and twenty nine captured. Government losses not disclosed.

Senator Hanna halted his opposition to endorsing President Roosevelt at the Ohio Republican State Convention in Columbus. He directed his supporters to back the Roosevelt candidacy and allow the Foraker faction to prevail on the resolution while noting he is not a candidate for the presidency.
In Decatur Indiana last night a twelve year old girl Ida Bogner attacked her two year old sister with a large butcher knife. She wounded the child with two gashes on the head and another on the hand. The injuries are considered fatal.
In Walla Walla Washington on May 2 a radical Socialist Joseph Becker was jailed on suspicion of intending to kill President Roosevelt yesterday. He allegedly said in Portland he had one bullet for Roosevelt and one for Emperor William. Becker carried a rifle and hid it in a farmer's barn. police feared a tragedy was narrowly averted.
