Despite rumors, Lord Kitchener remains in the position of War Secretary. Winston Churchill is removed from the Admiralty, marking a shift in the wartime cabinet and leadership roles.
London May 25 The new coalition Cabinet was announced and approved by King George with Lord Kitchener staying as Secretary of War. Arthur Balfour becomes head of the Admiralty, Reginald McKenna Chancellor of the Exchequer, Lloyd George leads a newly created Ministry of Munitions. Other posts include Asquith Prime Minister, Grey Foreign Affairs, Bonar Law Colonial, Churchill Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, and various peers filling key offices. The note mentions the Irish leader Redmond was offered a cabinet seat but declined.
In Lisbon on May 25 Joao Chagas resigned as Portugal's Premier following a gunshot wound on May 17. He lost sight in one eye and remains wounded. his doctor urged resignation. He states recovery would come too late as elections set in June will bring a new Ministry.

Her lawyer prepares to seek a court conference and return her to her father’s home while she waits for the baby to be born. Miss Riehl remains in police custody at Philadelphia General Hospital.
Five men were burned in a blast at the Dupont Powder Company mill in Carney's Point New Jersey. It is the third accident in the company's New Jersey plants within weeks and a company investigation is underway to determine the cause.
