Paris Strikes Manacles Ridge. Passengers Safe At Falmouth
The American Line steamer Paris from Southampton and Cherbourg to New York struck a rock near the Manacles in fog. All 380 passengers were landed at Falmouth. crew and officers kept order, and rescue tugs stood by. The ship sustains a large bottom rent but sails remain intact.
