Dr Florenz Ziegfeld 82 founder of the Chicago Musical College and father of Flo Ziegfeld died at his Chicago home at 5 AM He established the college in 1867 and mentored artists from Europe He was Brigadier General in the Illinois National Guard and chaired the 1893 World Columbian Exposition music awards Survived by wife Rosalie de Hez two sons and a daughter.

James Aaron 26 and Joseph Robinson 37 were wounded in a morning shooting on Smith street near L'Hommiedieu alley after Alvin Robinson 36 and two white men demanded a match. Aaron is fatally shot. both he and Joseph were taken to General Hospital. Alvin Robinson held for police.

Indianapolis May 20 The National Executive Committee of the American Legion adopted a resolution denouncing any person group or organization that condemns a comrade for creed or belief aimed at the Ku Klux Klan. It forbids displaying the Legion by employers and calls for English taught in schools with limited foreign language study. A survey of penitentiaries and protests against President Harding's order were also debated and adopted or rejected as part of the session's measures.

Multiple Injuries From Auto Crash and Runaway Horses
Cecilia Schmutte seven of 1147 Dayton Street sustained a fractured skull and injuries after being struck by a motor vehicle at Colerain Avenue and Dayton Street. She is listed in grave condition at St. Mary’s Hospital. William Hines of 1811 Young Street is cited for reckless driving while Auburn, driver of the car, was exonerated by a witness. Charles Fuller, 19 of 1263 East Third Street, is charged with driving after an auto accident at Sew or Stones Place. Police say Fuller’s car sideswiped Demham’s vehicle, sending both cars off a ten foot embankment. Fuller’s wrecked auto towed from the scene. No injuries reported. A runaway horse and wagon from the Cincinnati Railroad Omnibus Company damaged six parked cars on Opera Place near Havlin Hotel. Theodore Krauser of 1423 Plum Street was at the hotel when the incident occurred.

Fred Wallbruch 59 a laborer living at St. Elizabeth Hospital Covington Ky was struck and seriously injured by an unidentified automobile on Fountain square near Walnut street early last night. The driver did not stop until near Vine street then fled. Wallbruch was carried to First District Police Station and then to General Hospital with a broken left arm and scalp wounds in serious condition.

Driver Charged With Intoxication After Series of Accidents
William Troscher of Ninth and Race streets was struck by a truck driven by George Schletman of Wilder avenue at Findlay and Elm. The crash damaged two cars and sent a spare tire rolling 150 feet breaking a store glass at 1808 Elm street. Schletman was arrested on a charge of operating an automobile while intoxicated.
