Bishop Anton Bast of Copenhagen is removed as bishop by an ecclesiastical court for imprudent conduct with Mrs. Ellen Vedel, improper profits from The Lighthouse publication, and false profit disclosures. He remains a member and preacher, with Denmark conference to decide his future. He proclaimed innocence, saying I know I am innocent. A boycott against unfair coverage of prohibition was urged by the conference.

Cecil Clyde Campbell a former United States Army Major was found guilty of murder in the second degree for killing his wife Mary McLean Campbell with a hammer in the Grand Hotel on February 6. The jury gave a strong recommendation for mercy prompting tense exchanges with Judge Donnellan who explained his discretionary power to consider commuting sentence. The judge called the verdict sympathetic but noted society must be protected and set sentencing for June 4.
President Coolidge nominated Patrick J. Farrell to replace John J. Esch on the Interstate Commerce Commission. Farrell, longtime chief law officer, began as Prouty's confidential clerk in 1902 and rose to general counsel in 1918. Esch faced Senate opposition over lake cargo coal rate decisions.

Two men died and seven were injured across Oklahoma and Texas as a series of storms caused widespread property damage. In Oklahoma near Drumright a dance hall collapsed killing J. C. Brinlee and car crash victim Carl Roach. Wellington Texas saw six inches of rain in four hours, with washed bridges and three demolished houses. Rail bridge spans were reported missing over Salt Fork, and Northwest Texas Southwest Arkansas crops and infrastructure suffered 300000 to 450000 dollars in losses.

He says red draperies in the President's room are the Papal Colors placed for Alfred E Smith, and that the dollar bill secretly bears a cross and rosary. City Council yesterday passed a new electric rate ordinance with an estimated annual saving of 500000 to 600000 for five years. Valuation expert W J Hagenah explained rate making while outlining a 15 percent average bill reduction and details of a room based service charge.
A tornado struck Thackerville Oklahoma, a 300 resident town thirteen miles north of Gainesville Texas, injuring two seriously and several others less, destroying virtually every house and a brick schoolhouse and blowing a cotton gin, with reports citing Mr and Mrs Gibb as the most seriously hurt.
The home of Robert Elliott official executioner for New York New Jersey Delaware Massachusetts and Pennsylvania was bombed in Queens near Bunton Station. Elliott his wife and two children were hurled from their beds but unharmed. Police blame sympathizers of those Elliott has executed.

John Weiler twenty seven of 44 Drake road Indian Hill an informer for the federal prohibition office was arrested after a search in the Federal Building. He was arraigned and held on ten thousand dollars bond and confined in Hamilton County Jail. A warrant charged him with impersonating a federal prohibition agent and conspiracy to violate the national prohibition act. Hartnagel a Springfield pike farmer said he paid Weiler one hundred dollars on April fifteenth for protection. Mrs Weiler fainted when told of the arrest.
Mrs. Florence Gilmour sues the AI Smith Presidential League of Southern California for 820 damages claiming $15 daily pay for work as advancement agent for Nellie Taylor Ross during Gov. Smith’s California campaign. Names include Gov. Smith, Isaidre Dockweiler, P. M. Abbott, and other league officers.
President Coolidge signed a bill cutting air mail rates to five cents for each half ounce, reducing the previously charged ten cent rate. The action lowers postal costs for air transportation and reflects a shift in government shipping policy.
