In Leslie County two youths Hubbard Minnard and Henderson Hensley shot each other after a jealous feud over Mrs. Martha Adams, a 25 year old divorcee. Minnard died, Hensley died later, while Mrs. Adams was wounded but expected to recover. The parlor scene left walls and floors splattered with blood as families arrived.

Funeral of Victims Held Today in Ironton Area

The mass funeral for Mrs. Nancy Massie and her two children, alleged Harley Beard victims, will be held at Greasy Ridge old Baptist Church at 11 a.m. tomorrow. Sheriff Sloane arrives with Beard from Chicago tomorrow midnight, but will not exit the train with him. Grand jury ordered to report May 25 to hear Beard's case. Surviving daughter Mrs Thomas J Hopkins arrived from Hinton West Virginia with her ailing husband.

Five Barges Pass Through Canal Amid Reopened Route Plans

Five barges carrying about 2100 tons of cargo will move from Balboa to Cristobal at noon Monday as Panama Canal traffic resumes. Doctor Sentenced to Ohio Pen For Selling Cocaine

Youngstown Ohio May 16 Dr Lamar B Smith a local physician was sent to Columbus to begin an indeterminate sentence in the Ohio Penitentiary for selling cocaine. He appealed to the state supreme court but his conviction stood. He predicted pardon within nine months and asked townspeople to suspend his sentence. Several visitors including women and girls sought to conceal their identity during his prison stay.

Convicted Dynamiters Ordered to the Pen

May 16 Chicago dispatch reports all defendants in the dynamite piracy cases now on bonds or whose convictions were affirmed will surrender at Leavenworth or be sent to the penitentiary within three weeks. The men include Qlat Tyelmoe San Francisco Richard Houlman Chicago and William Bernhardt Cincinnati awaiting remands and potential pardons from President Wilson.
