WACO Texas May 15 Jesse Washington a young Negro who assaulted a white woman here was taken from the courtroom during his trial and publicly burned in front of City Hall. A crowd of about 10 000 witnessed the vengeance with many women and children present. Washington confessed the murder of Mrs Lucy Fryar after the attack. The mob moved from the suspension bridge to the Plaza and then to the city hall yard where the fire was started. Several Akron residents were injured in the violence and a restaurant owner among others were cut or injured.
