Walnut Hills line will be operated under guard today as shops close for men to join the parade. Company reports no change in the situation and says workers sleep on their arms.
Rezin Orr states that workers will not press for anything beyond recognition of the union. He argues the closed shop principle is not the top priority for labor actions.
Secretary Draper issues a formal statement about the traction company position. Little trouble reported in moving cars as parade preparations proceed.

The case asks whether poker participation disqualifies an election board member. no prior ruling exists.
The State Board of Health officials in Columbus say the new city home rule will not grant municipalities exclusive health authority in chartered cities. Local health boards will remain under the State Board's supervision.

Colonel Maclee Wilson of Columbus resigns as Treasurer of the Red Cross Ohio Flood Relief Commission due to duties conflicting with private business. Governor Cox selects Isaac D. Pugh to succeed him. Pugh has qualified and assumed the role. Wilson previously handled close to 1,000,000 dollars.
Adjutant General Wood issued an order authorizing Colonel H. D. Knox of Marietta to muster a militia company at Gallipolis on May 22. The unit will likely join the Seventh Regiment, Ohio National Guard, to fill the gap left by the disbanded First Regiment last year in the southern state.
In Columbus Ohio on May 15 a wage increase to about twenty five cents per hour was granted to all uniformed employees of the Columbus Railway and Light Company effective Monday. About 600 men will benefit with regular workers rising to roughly 25 4 percent per hour from 22 1 2 cents and extra men from 21 cents to just over 22 1 2 cents. No formal demand preceded the raise though discontent was noted among workers.
An armed Black man identified as Tommy Lee Toothlack allegedly shot Patrolman Ogiltree and several others in Fort Worth on May 15. The shooter reportedly killed a patrol officer, wounded several bystanders, and fled into a sewer while pursued by a large crowd, ending with injuries to bystanders and the assailant.

Harry K Thaw testified that Dr John W Russell first suggested a large payment could secure his release from Matteawan Hospital for the Criminal Insane. Thaw described visits by Attorney John N Anhut who allegedly offered a 320000 bribe for a discharge order. He said he spent 65000 on attempts and that securities and cash were arranged to be given to Russell if release failed.
Washington May 15 Officials high in the administration say Japan will protest the California alien land bill after Governor Johnson signs it. Viscount Chinda met with the State Department and the White House as diplomats discuss a formal response. Japanese officials remain hopeful for a peaceful settlement and do not seek arbitration at this time.
