Paris May 11 The trial of the Bonnet Rouge directors defense and treason in wartime relations with Germany dominates proceedings. Captain Mornet details money flows from Marx to Mornet ally Duval and notes Almereyda’s links to Caillaux with 40900 francs. He cites peace campaigns and German influence through newspapers in occupied Northern France. The judge threatens to clear the court after a Sturm of applause.
President Wilson's eighteen White House sheep were shorn by Bureau of Animal Husbandry experts. The wool clip was unusually heavy and buyers reportedly offered up to five dollars per pound. Officials have not decided what will be done with the wool.

Diplomatic dispatches reveal Ukrainian officials were searched and arrested by German uniformed forces during a Central Rada session. The incident prompted protests from the Rada President as authorities reported rough treatment and interference by German military authorities.
Amsterdam May 11 German Romanian peace provisions require Romania to indemnify German consular officials for war damage and to restore German troops’ salaries and status. Romania renounces damages in Romania from German actions and must redeem banknotes within six months after ratification. The pact also covers indemnities to Germans and neutrals, treaty restoration, and prisoner exchanges.
At adjournment of the 112 IWW trial in Chicago the government had finished introducing printed matter seized during raids and will read private correspondence from leaders. Lieutenant Paul Frank Baer of the same unit is praised for multiple engagements and taking two enemy planes in two days. Baer is noted as a five-wing ace with additional victories in April.
Winnipeg May 11 Thousands of Canadian railroad workers including trainmen conductors baggagemen and switchmen will receive wage increases aligned with U S raises. M H McLeod Vice President Canadian Northern Railway said Canada will mirror the U S increase once it takes effect as per the January agreement. The plan also covers Canadian Pacific and affects thousands of men.
Washington May 11 The Army Ordnance Department announced that every soldier boarding a transport overseas is fully equipped with arms and gear. Infantrymen receive United States Model 1917 rifles bayonets belts haversacks pack carriers and full mess equipment. Tonnage limits restrict overseas ordnance shipments though ample artillery French 75 and 155 millimeter pieces and American heavy railway artillery are already in France to meet current demand.
The State Department disclosed a German wireless message claiming daily grave insubordination in American training camps. Sent May 9 from Christiania via Norway reports mutinies leading to mass immunity for mutineers and widespread sabotage of works and material.
Berlin reports heavy losses for American troops southwest of Apremont and north of Parroy after a strong mine bombardment. Italian forces reportedly secured prisoners and Austrian guns. Maurice placed on retired list per official HQ communique dated May 11.
Rome reports Italian troops stormed Monte Corso at night and took about 400 prisoners with two guns and four machine guns. In Val Arsa detachments captured 100 prisoners and equipment. Air activity increased with Allied airships bombing Mattarello station and three enemy planes shot down.
