St Joseph Church plans an endless chain fundraiser to fund the reward and lift suspicion from Rev Walser. Knights of Columbus will contribute 2000 dollars tomorrow as detectives review the case with Miss Reichlin and relations.
Quar termaster General Perry went to St. Louis to settle the Planters Hotel bill for the Governor's party at the Exposition dedication. Bernard Korbly of Smith and Korbly told the Governor the Planters had the bill for collection and warned of immediate suit if not settled. The Governor said Perry would confer with hotel officials and that the attorneys could file when ready.
Upper Sandusky May 11 Hundreds arrived at Carey to join a jubilee pilgrimage to a famed shrine. The village is decorated with an electric arch before the church as scores of priests gather. Sermons were delivered by Rev. Huthmacher and Rev. Gertz. an immense throng heard Rev. Marks in the evening. Bishop Horstman will attend Thursday to assist in services. The event draws Catholics from across the country.
William Harris faced murder in the first degree in Springfield Ohio on May 11. While pleading for mercy and claiming his victim had robbed him of his wife and home, Harris suffered a heart attack and collapsed. He revived with stimulants, then was sentenced to life in the penitentiary.
In Harrison County Texas twenty five heirs sue to void the will leaving all to Estelle Coit of Muncie Ind. citing alleged bigamy and poisoning. Sheriff serves Estelle Coit at Muncie while she denies murder and asserts five husbands all dead or divorced. Health? The estate valued at $12,000 with Texas land of 21,000 acres. Heirs reside in Marshall Texas and Brooklyn New York.
Lieutenant Chester reports the Arkansas cannot reach the Gulf until next spring unless a rise occurs. The Navy plans transfers of crew to other ships in the East and keeps remaining crew for summer and fall drills. The Arkansas was accepted by the acting Secretary of the Navy after meeting contract requirements.
New York May 11 Roosevelt has offered Frederick W Holls the role of umpire in settling Germany and Italy claims against Venezuela. The process fixes damages by two representatives with an American umpire. similar arbitration for the Italian claim. Holls has not yet decided whether to accept.
Joseph Bernstein, a Prussian immigrant aged with a weight of fifteen pounds, was deemed ineligible for admission and ordered deported despite being healthy. His family traveled seeking reunification, with the father employed in a Toledo glass factory and the mother and siblings en route to join him.
In Mindanao near Cape Pershing, Moros were killed during a rear attack while Captain Pershing’s troops repelled the assault and Taraca was captured. Officials praised the operation as decisive, with two American deaths and several wounded reported.

Reports tie to earlier Sutton case, with community beliefs leaning toward murder and sensational arrests anticipated.
