Postmaster Monfort in Cincinnati orders bids by June 22 for a four year pneumatic mail tube operation. Tubes must be 30 inches diameter, run between post office and depot, with a six foot long car, 24 inch ID. First six months free to government. Up to 17 000 dollars per mile annually.
Fire crews checked Drake and Madison after a false auto alarm. A woman riding by was spotted near the box and tire tracks were found. Police suspect a single individual behind repeated nighttime pulls.
T H Snyder and Co complained to Service Director Sandmaker about North street conditions between Sixth Avenue and New Street. Attorney Harry T Klein presented a $75 damages claim for a wrecked wagon belonging to Anton Vogel of Colerain Avenue. Health Officer Landis left for Cleveland to attend the Ohio State Medical Association and urged action on applying eugenics to habitual criminals and imbeciles, noting Indiana’s claimed success.
