New York judge Finelite ruled teeth are worth more than $25 each while granting a new trial in the case of Francis McTague a 12 year old who sued the New York Railway Company for two lost teeth after being thrown from a Ninth Avenue car wrecking two teeth. The jury had awarded $50 for the tooth loss but the judge ordered a new trial saying the verdict was too small and teeth should be valued higher.
The card table of former Speaker Cannon sold for 16 dollars at auction in Washington on May 8, with a gas lamp bringing 1.25. About 200 attendees, many wives of prominent officials, attended as Cannon leaves for Danville Illinois. His Washington residence is being renovated for a boarding house use.

In Gaelsburg Hbl May 8 the Farmers' Savings Bank at North Henderson Tl. was robbed by bandits who dynamited the vault and fled with about 6000 dollars in currency and gold. The loot included several hundred dollars in silver left scattered about the floor.
