Oldest Colored Man in Putnam County Dies at 114
Fielden Pompey aged 114, a longtime resident near Ottawa Ohio, died at his home. Born in Roanoke Virginia in 1787, he had eleven children from his marriages, with his third wife still living and about sixty. Pompey was noted as perhaps the oldest man in Putnam County and possibly the state.

Parkersburg May 3. A two faced female infant with two mouths, four eyes and two lateral ears was born to Enoch Brown and wife of Alton Upshur County. The child was stillborn. The cranium held two immature brains ending in one spinal cord. The neck was stout and thick and the body unusually developed. All organs appeared sound. The left arm hindered its movement.
