President Taft visits Cincinnati for the May Music festival as 800 voices chorus, world famed soloists, Thomas orchestra and a grand organ perform Judas Maccabeus. Taft will be welcomed at the depot, dine at Schmidlapp home, address Mercantile Library trustees, and attend multiple events before delivering a festival address.

President Taft lands in the city at 10 25 a m and departs for his brother's home. He meets trustees of Mercantile library at noon and lunches with Lucien Wulsin at 1 30 p m on Madisonville road. He and Ambassador Bernstorff attend a reception at J G Schmidlapp's home at 2 30 p m. He addresses Loyal Order of Tecion at Masonic hall at 4 30 p m and attends May Festival events, including the Theodore Thomas statue dedication at 9 p m. He dines at the Queen City club at 11 p m and leaves for St Louis at midnight.

Mississippi and Louisiana lumber dealers were dissolved for boycotting suppliers, while Tennessee ousted Standard Oil of Kentucky for anti competitive conduct. Justice Lorton announced the Mississippi decision, noting the contracts limited trade and violated state antitrust laws.
Youngstown plants of the Youngstown Sheet and Tube company and Republic Iron and Steel company granted an average wage increase about six percent. Common labor advanced ten cents per day with other advances being worked out.
The court of claims ruled that legacy tax collections tied to Spanish American war legislation should be refunded. The decision returns about 5 million dollars to taxpayers.
Near Sugar Grove in Butler county two 18 year old youths quarreled after church last evening. Charles Barley shot and fatally wounded Otis M. Each. The incident occurred as they were returning home from services. Police investigated and the motive was not stated in the report.
