At AT T and Western Union offices a joint notice says limited wires will serve public officials relief groups and urgent messages about flood relief reaching Unio and nearby states. Officials note crews have kept links to large cities but many areas cannot receive telegrams or local calls.
Special Dispatch to Commercial Tribune from Columbus reports 60 bodies recovered with more feared. National Guardsmen and relief workers struggle to maintain order as floodwaters recede. The Scioto rises and debris piles threaten further recoveries, with deaths likely exceeding 150.
Indiana faces uncertain flood death toll as plumes of panic spread along the White Wa bash and Ohio rivers. Quarantines hit West Indianapolis and Peru amid rising sickness. Brookville reports sixteen deaths with six missing, while Peru survivors face limited rescues and fear further losses.

A.C. Baxter his wife Jennie and son William drowned when a rescue boat capsized. Carrie Linle Charles Zornes and Maggie Berrigan died from exposure. William Nolte found atop a tree. Harrison Lowery and Stanley Kyle among mourners.
The report lists hourly river stage measurements from 6 a.m. yesterday through the afternoon with values around 62.4 to 64.7 feet. Readings show gradual rise and include times such as 7 am 9 am 11 am 2 pm and 4 pm.
Dayton city faces an eight hundred dead conservatively, with 82 bodies recovered that day. Undertakers convened to organize body recovery, while many unidentifiable corpses remained in flooded areas and morgue plans lagged.
