Rumors of a break in Issaquena district circulate at dusk with no confirmation. On a logging road near Harton the engine on a train of eleven workers became unmanageable. All leaped to safety but Lindsay Browning of Middlefork was struck by a car after alighting and died instantly. The incident occurred yesterday evening on the Condon Lane Boom and Lumber Company line in Piedmont West Virginia.
Solomon Evans a 67 year old farmer from Arlington in Franklin County Ohio died by suicide today according to reports. He reportedly sat on a roadside bowlder with a Winchester rifle pressed to his heart and pulled the trigger using his cane. He leaves a wife and children including W H Evans who is the managing editor of the Franklin County Herald in Columbus.
The Yanariva rescued six teen survivors from the Ville de St Nazaire after it foundered in March storms off the Virginia Capes. Thirteen of twenty nine aboard one lifeboat died from exposure and hunger as four boats launched. The second officer is among the rescued and to be taken in charge by the French Consul at Glasgow. Pierre Nuvali and Andre de Andreis Nuvali are named in the crew list as officers.
In Pittsburg suburb McKee's Rocks two brothers Willie Dewalt five and Elmer ten were swept away by Chartier's Creek while returning home from Sunday school. Willie slipped into the water and Elmer, unable to swim, attempted to save him but both were drowned as bystanders at an electric power house watched unable to reach them in time.
The steamer Clive arrived from Naples with 1 119 Italian steerage passengers the largest immigrant tally this season at the port of New York, marking a significant influx and milestone.
Frankfort report says Judge W. H. Holt is poised to become Republican Senator if Hunter fails to win by Thursday. A political deal with sound money Democrats would back Holt and in return endorse the Democratic Clerk of the Court of Appeals candidate next fall. DENVER March 2 The Northern Colorado coal operators combine has been dissolved and the coal price has dropped from 4 to 350 per ton. Operators foresee wage cuts and possible strike as a consequence of the action.

Lexington Ky March 28 London papers printed a story that Arthur W Platt the English murderer who killed Jesse Tyree at the Lexington Lunatic Asylum eleven years ago escaped from Sheriff Gross in New York The sheriff visited denounced the tale as absolutely false and said Platt remained under guard at police headquarters until the Lexington bound train was ready to depart He is now jailed awaiting trial for Tyree s murder
Lee Pon, Grand Recorder of the Chinese Free Masons in America, was buried in St Louis. Thousands attended as three Chinamets on horseback led the procession, with Chinese and German bands, prayers, offerings, crackers, and joss sticks before the coffin was interred at Wesleyan Cemetery.
Anthony Marshall, found unconscious in the Marine Hotel with two women dead in the same apartment, died in the hospital after being overcome by illuminating gas. The two women are identified by relatives at the morgue. No new details emerged about Marshall.

Stephen Royce 34, employed at Lawrenceburg Saw and Edge Tool Works, stabbed Joseph Enyoski 47, killing him instantly during a midnight quarrel on Ridge avenue. Royce surrendered to authorities, claiming amnesia about the motive. Enyoski, with wife and four children, worked at Cook piano factory. his body lay in the road awaiting the coroner.
