State Building and Loan Inspector Mauck revoked licenses of all debenture companies in Ohio with the Cleveland and Dayton firms exiting voluntarily and Toledo fleeing the field. The action follows a Supreme Court decision, with estimated investor losses exceeding 1.25 million dollars and the security fund to be pro rated among creditors.

Stainger a saloon keeper and marshal was assaulted by rival saloon keeper Lister and others. property destroyed. Earlier incidents include a stone piercing a car window and a train window bullet near Lyford during ongoing railroad trouble tied to a prior strike.

In Youngstown Ohio Deputy State Fire Warden Beardsley arrested Robert Calvin a clerk at the J A Robertson shoe store on arson charges. The center city store has seen several mysterious fires. Calvin pled innocent and posted bond for a hearing. Police expect more arrests in connection with the blazes.
Washington reports that Ohio’s claim for equipping troops in the Spanish War, originally $450,000, has been nearly fully adjusted. Only about $30,000 remains. the incident is closed with all but a few dollars settled.
In Columbus Ohio on March 27 Miss Elsie Romick tracked down a horse stolen by Marvin Kuhns after his penitentiary escape. Walter Sells had teased he would give the horse away if found. Detectives failed, but the persistent girl located the horse near the Indiana line and reclaimed it from a farmer after he was paid for feed.
Berlin March 27. Four bodyguards on bicycles will accompany the carriage to protect Emperor William in public events. The coachman and footman will carry revolvers. Experiments with these measures are directed by the Emperor’s aides-de-camp. The Emperor is expected tomorrow at the Royal Opera premiere of Saint Saens Samson et Delilah.

General Frederick Funston's plan to seize Aguinaldo in Isabella Province succeeds. Aguinaldo was captured March 23 after a rebel officer betrayed him. The Vicksburg, under Commander E B Barry, reaches Manila with Aguinaldo aboard, escorted by Funston and Mercy Hospital surgeon Harris and officers.
After a seizure of Funston and his party by native scouts near Baler the Americans and Filipino allies moved nine miles through jungle to Aguinaldo's camp. News sparked brief rejoicing before a sharp clash ended with the captives freed and the party returning to the coast.
