Fireman Falls Through Trap In Engine House Death
William J. Miller aged 55 of Price Hill died instantly after stepping onto a trap door in the engine house at Wade Street and Freeman Avenue. He fell eighteen feet onto a concrete floor and suffered a basal skull fracture. Miller, a frequent visitor to the firehouse, mistook the dim sleeping quarters for the lavatory and plunged through the trap as the floor panel opened. He was taken to St Marys Hospital where he died on arrival.
