The trivial mistake led to two men being arrested in connection with the Norwood chain grocery robbery. Gordon Burness and Fred Craven were held up at the Carter and Hopkins avenue store, $45 taken from registers. Police linked license numbers from the getaway car to a suspect, leading to further arrests and shifting alibis.
Northern California rivers surge after heavy rains causing mud inundation in Reno where five feet of water covers parts of the city. A seventeen year old, L. C. Lankford of Atlanta, slipped on rain slick stones near Stone Mountain north precipice and plunged 800 feet to his death. Spectators watching the Confederate monument carving near the edge were horrified as he fell. He had been with two companions at the summit prior to the accident.
Sigmund Floreczyk, 17, attempted a dangerous cliff path at Clark Reservation in Syracuse. As he climbed within fifteen feet of the top, loose rocks caused a miniature avalanche, sending him down sixty feet to the beach where a half ton of stones crushed him.
Nineteen year old William Moore and his wife were drawn from home by spring fashions when Donald Foote 19 of 1222 London avenue criticized a new suit at Pearl street and Broadway. A brief fight followed until Patrolmen Courtney and McDermott intervened and Foote, Moore, and Walter Maley 24 of 1447 Walnut street were charged with disorderly conduct at Broadway Police Station.
Ben F Lyons 29 of Washington was killed when he and companions fled officers during an attempted automobile theft near Washington Pennsylvania. Capt E E Barbe of the Lincoln Gas Coal Company police, alleged to have shot Lyons, was arrested though no formal charges were filed.
In Oxford Ohio a Miami University junior Macke Vernon Wisecup killed himself after quarrel and jealousy over Miss Helen Todd 21 of Cincinnati. Coroner held his verdict pending as townspeople note two student deaths in three days.
Dr Warren K Moorehead of Phillips Academy unearthed an iron sword hilt guard and blade fragment near Carters Georgia along with a warrior skeleton and ceremonial relics. The find, in an Etowah group mound, includes war points granite spade beads shells and stone vessels suggesting pre Columbian culture remains. The six inch iron blade is linked to De Sotos expedition and indicates advanced Etowah period grave goods.
New York March 25 Patrolman Rowan Kelly faced a crossfire from two bandits during a cider shop holdup at Carl Baust's store. Baust escaped through a side door and alerted police. Kelly fired back and the bandits fled. no money was taken and a wounded bandit may be hospitalized.
The anti Japanese boycott at Amoy continues as residents of other countries are excluded. Labor unions demand the removal of the Japanese Consul, accusing him of breaking faith with the Nationalists by ordering native Koreans to be sent to Japan.
Harvey Metler a 35 year old Railway Express clerk was bound in the express car as train No 4 from Chattanooga arrived at Central Union Station. Two unmasked white men robbed him of 26 dollars and failed to open the car safe after boarding between Lexington Kentucky and Ludlow Kentucky. Porter Oscar Ledetter saw the open door and notified police across Ludlow Covington Newport and Cincinnati. The bandits fled near Ludlow after failing to crack the safe. Metler described them as two men ages 27 and 35.
Ohio reported ten violent deaths on a warm spring Sunday, eight from auto accidents including eight automobile fatalities in Cincinnati and other cities. Other deaths were a Willard car inspector crushed between box cars and a Cleveland man who drowned near Akron after dark.
Ezra Clements, 16, was killed in Covington yesterday when a revolver discharged accidentally. The weapon, weighed by William Scott and another youth, fired as they compared guns at Scott’s home, fatally wounding Clements who died at Booth Memorial Hospital.
Edward Graef 65 of Clarkewood avenue in Cincinnati died after stepping from a taxi and being struck by a fast car near Duncan and Erie avenues. George Linke and taxi driver Louis Zeff assisted him to General Hospital where he died from internal injuries. Graef was president of Victory Dry Cleaning Co and a prominent clubman with ties to the Cuvier Press Club and several city organizations.
Adelphi Theater offers seats for Clowns in Clover on an installment plan. Beginning on Easter, reservations can be made six weeks in advance with weekly payments of one shilling.
E J Hermann known as Sport parts ways with Mayor over a deal with Thompson and State's Attorney Crowe. Sport plans to campaign for Emmerson Carlstrom, while questioning Bill Thompson's loyalty and memory of promises amid New York style theatre and library controversy.

Lima March 25 A city said to date back thousands of years and containing frame houses that from a distance appear like glittering gold has been found at Huayabamba in a Peruvian mountain. El Tiempo says it was informed by a British Museum member in London. Explorations will start.
Josephine Fish, eighteen, daughter of Dr and Mrs Charles K Corsant of Chicago and Beverly Hills, marries Count Anthony Bosdari in Chicago. The couple, cousins of King Victor Emmanuel, will sail for Europe soon and plan to reside in London.
