In Washington police report an outbreak of tong warfare after Lim Chong a 20 year old waiter at a Pennsylvan ia avenue restaurant was shot dead. The slayer entered spoke to Chong fired two accurate shots and fled in a taxi. Chong belonged to the Hip Sing Tong while the restaurant staff were believed linked to the On Leong Tong. Police questioned two waiters who were later released.
Sir Esme Howard, British Ambassador to the United States, alleges Soviet Russia plans to incite Chinese attacks on foreigners to push Britain out of Asia and spark revolutions across Europe and Britain. He warns Moscow seeks control of Asia and may become a central, guiding force for regional policy while China may not embrace communism. He argues Britain will protect its lives and property if civil war ends in China.

James Martin Miller testified Ford suggested writing about the Jews and Aaron Sapiro, while Ford aides argued over the claim in court. The trial also heard about booklets containing anti Semitic attacks published with Sapiro targeted.
Cleveland March 25 Two secret indictments naming about thirty persons were returned by a Federal Grand Jury probing a conspiracy that moved beer from Pennsylvania breweries into Ohio. U S District Attorney A E Bernsteen said indictments would be public only as arrests are made. Investigators estimate beer value in Ohio over the past two years near 40 million dollars. Over 100 witnesses from Pennsylvania and Ohio participated. six months of work preceded the grand jury action. First arrests were expected tomorrow.
Federal Grand Jury charges accuse Teddy Abbey Lady Cook McKinley Hudson and Pauline Hudson of narcotic law violations as part of the Canton jungle ring. Indictments returned in Cleveland.
