Rhode Island lawmakers approve a resolution urging Congress to amend the national prohibition act and submit the issue to a public vote. The measure passes 60 to 32 after party-line support from about thirty Republicans and as many Democrats, with a referendum clause added.
In Washington March 25 prohi bition officers and House members debated congressional sobriety amid a six bottle liquor incident in the House office building. Rep Rankin challenged O Connor and defended Dr Clarence True Wilson while New York wet bloc pressed for wine and beer sales by referendum. A bond was posted for the alleged purveyor as the session adjourned.

Dayton reports Lt. Eugene H. Barksdale of McCook Field narrowly escaped injury when his army plane disintegrated 1000 feet above ground. A fluttering wing warned him to jump. he deployed an emergency parachute and landed with only a sprained ankle.
In Orangefield Texas March 25 three hundred students were led to safety by P N Powell superintendent as a tornado tore through the village and oil field. One person died and eight injured though no child was harmed. Damages exceeded a million dollars. An aviator W L Jamieson and passenger Mrs Stella Johnson escaped unharmed after their plane was wrecked.

Socialist opposition to new tax measures grows, with Conservatives insisting on Malvy’s removal or they will vote against financial bills. Malvy's illness and resignation rumors echo through the Chamber.
Irvin Cobb appeared before a Federal Grand Jury in New York on March 25 regarding the champagne ginger ale bath taken by Joyce Hawley at the Earl Carroll Theater. Cobb said the fluid was pink and he had not had liquor in four years, noting uncertainty if it was ginger ale or champagne.

In September 1925 Scrubbs family of Maysville Kentucky celebrated their twenty fifth anniversary by betting two dollars on King Colin in the Latonia fifth race. Jockey Wallace rode the horse to a loss amid claims the race was fixed. Mrs Scrubbs seeks repayment from the track in a letter to Judge Lueders.
In New York and Queens investigators chase a “gentleman radio burglar” after he shoots three officers and steals radios across seven weeks. Patrolman Donnelly, wounded but recovering, identified the suspect just before the latest attack as 150 radios were taken and a citywide manhunt expanded with new descriptions and arrests anticipated.
In Berlin a 23 year old American medical student John B. Goodrich from Monroe New Hampshire shot and killed his 21 year old fiancée Alice Fitzner a Cleveland dancer then killed himself in a taxi near the theater district. Jealousy toward a Russian dancer Wassiliev is blamed as the motive. Fitzner survived briefly in hospital before dying.
